Terms of Use

Welcome to Dlema, an app and website (dlema.app) that helps you find where to eat and drink in Tel Aviv. By using Dlema you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. We wrote them in plain language. Dlema is operated by Itay Engelstein. Questions: hello@dlema.app.

1. Information about places

We try to keep it right, but opening hours, prices, menus, accessibility, kosher status, photos and addresses change, and some information comes from outside sources. It may be wrong or out of date. Always check with the place, especially for kosher status, allergies and accessibility. Found a mistake? Tap "Report a mistake" on the place page.

How places are chosen: our team chooses places by quality. Places can't pay to be in Dlema. A place that pays for promotion is always labeled "Sponsored", and promotion doesn't change which places appear. "Dlema Pick" is our own recommendation, not an ad.

2. Smart search

Smart search uses AI (Google's Gemini). Its results and reasons are suggestions only and may be inaccurate or unsuitable. Where you go is your decision.

3. Bookings

• Dlema doesn't book tables or take payments. The "Book a table" button opens the place's booking page, calls it, or opens WhatsApp. There's no guarantee of a table, and "open now" is information only. If we ever offer a booking request through Dlema, it will be a request only, not a confirmed reservation.
• Booking links to Ontopo, Tabit or a restaurant's website are third-party services, not ours. Bookings there follow their terms, and we're not responsible for them.
• We are not a party to any deal between you and a restaurant.

4. Sources and photos

• Photos and live info such as phone, website and hours come from Google Maps, credited to Google and the photographer.
• Some information comes from OpenStreetMap (© OpenStreetMap contributors, ODbL license).
• Use of Google's maps and data is also subject to the Google Maps Additional Terms of Service and the Google Privacy Policy. The map on iPhone is Apple Maps.
• Restaurant names, trademarks and photos belong to their owners.

5. Accounts

An account is optional. You can create one with an email and password, or with Apple / Google. If you create one, keep your password safe and give correct details. You must be at least 13. You can delete your account at any time in the app.

6. Rules

Don't:

• Send spam, fake booking requests or false reports, or send them in someone else's name.
• Copy, automatically collect ("scrape") or republish Dlema's information, lists or content without written permission.
• Try to get around usage limits, hack, overload our servers or harm the service.
• Use Dlema for anything illegal.

If someone breaks these rules, we may block them or delete their account.

7. What's ours

The app, its design, the Dlema name and logo, and the collection and arrangement of information belong to Dlema, except third-party content (such as Google photos and OpenStreetMap data), which belongs to its owners.

8. Changes to the service

Dlema is free and provided "as is". We may change, add, remove or stop parts or all of the service at any time. If we change these terms, we'll update this page and the date. Continuing to use Dlema means you accept the updated terms.

9. Liability

As far as the law allows, Dlema is not responsible for damage caused by using the service or relying on its information, including wrong information about a place, a decision based on a search result, or a problem with a booking at a restaurant or outside service. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that can't be waived.

10. Law and courts

These terms are governed by the laws of Israel. The competent courts in Tel Aviv-Yafo have exclusive jurisdiction.
